Aaron Glasson is a New Zealand born artist based in the Mojave Desert, California. Since completing a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Design at the Auckland University of Technology in 2005 he has been exhibiting and creating public art works internationally. His diverse portfolio consists of participatory installations, murals, paintings, illustration, furniture, sculpture, assemblage and film.
Much of Glasson’s career as an artist has been devoted to exploring ideas around ecology, connectivity and community engagement. He is interested not only in the conceptual and technical aspects of art making but also art’s practical potential outside of its traditional contexts.
Aaron’s work has been in group exhibitions at the East Hawaii Museum of Contemporary Art, Heron Arts, Skye Gallery, Maia Contemporary, the Straat Museum along with solo exhibitions at the Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego and Swish Projects. In 2023 Aaron will have solo exhibitions at both Detroit’s Louis Bhul & Co and Curators Cube in Tokyo.
