Edmond Brooks-Beckman (b. 1987) is a British artist living and working in London and the recipient of the Royal College of Art Valerie Beston Artists’ Trust Award 2023. His works centres around the addition and removal of layers, revealing a network of layers hidden beneath the surface.
Through the depths of the materials textures and abstract elements rise to the surface, interlacing with previous placements and removals. Each piece has its own form and conversation within it. Within the work there are many underlying references which are personal, cultural and historical and at times linked to his Jewish identity.
